Section 3: Grammar Points
叫 (jiào) is used to express "to be called" when introducing your name or asking for someone’s name.

Example:
我叫李华。 (Wǒ jiào Lǐ Huá.) – My name is Li Hua.

Adding 吗 (ma) at the end of a sentence turns it into a yes/no question.
Example:
你叫李华吗? (Nǐ jiào Lǐ Huá ma?) – Is your name Li Hua?

是 (shì) means "to be" and links subjects to predicates.
Example:
他是学生。 (Tā shì xuésheng.) – He is a student.

Subject + 叫 + Name
Example:
我叫王明。 (Wǒ jiào Wáng Míng.) – I am called Wang Ming.
