My visit to the Jungle Coaster in Pongyang Adventure Park , Chiang Mai was one of those spontaneous decisions that turned out to be absolutely worth it. We hired a red songthaew (Rod Daeng) from the city, and the drive up itself was quite an experience — winding roads, cool mountain breeze, and lush greenery on both sides. It felt like a small adventure even before the main one began. The Jungle Coaster is basically a single-rail alpine coaster that lets you control your own speed. You sit on a small cart that runs down the track through the forest. What surprised me most was that, the coaster immediately went down after the start — fast, fun, and full of adrenaline. The climb only happened at the end of the track, when it slowed down automatically and pulled itself up to the station again. On my first ride, I sat in between my father and my sisters.
